I had a conversation with my sis tonight. I’ve been feeling a bit down but I told her that I am truly starting to understand that my life is not that bad at all. She said to me, “It’s not even that your life is “not that bad at all”. Your life is not bad. Period. You are just missing it.”
Wow. In the moment that she said it, it felt so intensely profound and meaningful that it made me cry. Now, if only I could figure out what it means...

It means during your life journey, you've put everyone you deeply love and care about ahead of your own needs and wants. It means you've lost yourself along the way. Isn't it weird that this is coming from a guy? I think I lost my way too, living with 2 girls and a woman... soon to be 3 girls and a woman :)
I just had to write this to you cause I have seen other friends go through what your going through and most don't realize how simple it is to fix until its to late. I am not perfect as you know. But I just try to embrace the good in my life. Sometimes in life you got to look at the cup as half full. Life is great you need to grab your life and love it. stop questioning things, just enjoy your beautiful children. Some people cant have kids, you are blessed. Some people never meet a great man. You have. 2 amazing things. We could go on for ever how great your life is, sometimes it just takes you to stop questioning the negatives and love the positives.

I just had to respond to what Dean wrote...Although I agree with him that attitude is very important, sometimes that may not be enough. No matter how great your life is and how many times you tell yourself your life is great and to "love life!" - sometimes it may not be enough. Sometimes even the strongest, positive, and most blessed people struggle with depression brought on by a chemical imbalance, not a life situation. Don't beat yourself up. Feeling lost is ok. And if you think you need more then an attitude adjustment, talk to someone about it and seek help.

I don't really know the details of your life but i do know mine.... From my own experience, I spent 5 years of my life in Vancouver feeling life wasn't as i had hoped. I look back now and i realise that i spent so long focusing on what wasn't right that i missed what was right! Focus on the good, forget the bad, especially if you can't change it, and enjoy what you have. Don't forget to enjoy what you have!
This is me missing life sometimes...
i have my camera against my face, my eye looking through the viewfinder, and i'm focused on taking the photos and having the correct settings on the camera to get the photos i want, and i do manage to take the photos. but i miss experiencing the event. the moment passed me by and i wasn't really in it. while i'm glad i have the photos, i also feel annoyed that i missed out on fully experiencing that moment.
